I am newcomer, I am glad to introduce my specialty to you. My specialty is pharmacognosy.
What is pharmacognosy? It is hard to describe accurately. Etymologically, pharmacognosy is the knowledge of poisons (pharmacon). Note that pharmacon not only means poison, but also medication (the difference lies in the dose). Generally say, pharmacognosy is the study of material medica, which are obtained from natural sources—mostly plants, but also animals, minerals and fungi (this concept is still accepted by Chinese scholars). As the mineral substances lost their appeal in the west, it is excluded in the concept. But many foreigners treat hormones, enzymes, but also substances elaborated by micro-organisms. Under these conditions, pharmacognosy is the study of starting materials and substances intended for therapeutics, and of biological origin, in other words obtained form plants, animals, or by fermentation from micro-organisms.
In pharmacognosy, to study medicinal plants is: to define its identity; to describe its morphology and anatomy; to know its origin and production methods; to evaluate the plant quality; to determine its chemical composition and the factors that may affect it; to know the structure, physicochemical properties, and pharmacological activity of active principles; and, most important, to identify the variables which objectively reflect quality and to develop the methods to control it; finally, to come to grips with all the problems linked to the optimal utilization of plants and plant products.

I am very luckily to introduce myself  to you!
I am a medical student in Shan Dong Province, majer in Traditional Chinese Medicine which is
of long standing and owns extensive contents. For about five thousand years' experiential acculation and intellective deposition,TCM have formed its whole theory system and come in to being an absoluted science! Compared with Western medicine,it has many advantages which the latter does not. Firstly, TCM underwent about 5,000 years' development, our ancestors gained rich experience for us. Amount of datum preserved which are used for researched today. But, Western medicine has only about 100 years' development, which can not exceed TCM.Scendly, the price of herb is much more lower than Western medicinal materials, which us attach importance to extremely.
However,we also recognize that more and more questions about herb have been exposed and similar ones would be found henceforward. Moreover, nowdays,Western medicine develops rapidly with the application of modern physical and chemical technology.TCM lags
relatively.
We also recognize that TCM can not exist lonely without the support of Western medicine.
So,we should promote both of them energetically to service the people better using their individual advantage.

Hello everyone:

I’m very glad to introduce my specialty.

This summer I just got a master degree in radiology. But I’m not interest in radiology,so I strived for present profession. Now I’m a new staff  in Beijing Xishan Institute for Neuroregeneration and Fuctional Recovery in Shijingshan District. Now I major in neurobiology which used to be a complete strange one for me.I’m engaged in experimental treatment for Alzheimer’s Disease(AD) trying cell transplantation.Three months have passed by since I joined in the institute.During the past three months I was seeking a best model for my study, but there seems to be no one perfect. At last I decide to use APP transgenic mouse whice is better in contrast others. Now I’m still trying hard in finding and reading sufficient papers which is essential for my experimental design.I think it’s very important to make a good design,so I decide to spend a little more time before start experiment. I often ask myself what’s the final outcome.I’m just trying and seeking.Though it’s hard,it’s challenging and interesting.

I graduated from Xiangya Medical College, Central South University. I got my master degree in July this year. I majored in physiology since 3 years ago. Now, let me introduce this subject to you. Physiology is a branch of life science, its research fields includes the phenomena of life activities in living organisms and the functions of each part of the organisms. Human physiology is major involves in the normal activities of each organ and system which composed the human body, especially the internal mechanisms of functions of each organ and cells, the mutuality of different cells, organs or systems, how to coordinate and restrict each other in the functional activities of each part of the human as an integer. Physiology is also a basic medical science. The medical students must understand the functions of each party of the human body in normal conditions at first, and then they can learn the changes of the part of the body in illness and how to treat them so that they can recover to a normal condition.

Aeroengine -------- Heart of Aircraft

I am from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. My major is aerospace propulsion theory and engineering. Aerospace propulsion systems include many kinds of "engines", for example, piston engines, gas turbine engines, ramjet engines, Rocket, etc., we focus on aircraft gas turbine engines.
Generally, each of gas engines have a compressor, a combustor, a turbine and a nozzle. Compressor draws air in and compresses it. The compressed air is then pushed rearward into the combustion chamber. In the combustor, fuel injectors mix jet fuel with air and it is ignited. The flow and burn of the air/fuel mixture is controlled to ensure that the engine sustains a continuous flame. The expanding exhaust gases flow quickly toward the rear of the engine. The speeding gases that exit the combustor exertforce against the turbine blades. The Turbine is connected to the compressor by a shaft. The force or energy created by the turbine spins the compressor, which pulls in more air, beginning the whole cycle again. At last, the gases that still having some residual energy exhaust from the nozzle and produce thrust for the aircrafts.
From the gas turbine engine's working principle, we can conclude that the design process of a gas turbine engine needs much knowledge of various subjects. In fact, in my university, our college comprises four Sectors of Instruction: performance and gasdynamcs, structural strength and vibration, system simulation and automation, and combustion and heat transfer. Each sector focus its research on one main subject or direction. My research area is structural strength and life prediction. My master thesis is mainly about study on high temperature low cycle fatigue. Now I am studying for a Doctor degree and doing research in the high cycle fatigue behavior of titanium alloys.

Great to be here.

I am a new comer. I know this website through another website 'www.bylm.net\forum'. I found it is a very nice one. Therefore i am writing an introdution to myself.

I am a civil engineering student, working on water problem. Now i am studying in HK> My current task is to go to lectures, a lot of them, including mathematics, hydrology, hydraulics, and water systems. It is quite tiring to learn so many things at a same time. But anyway, these courses are interesting and important for me. In one week, I will have mid-term exams. Pooh! Three of them. Therefore these days I am quite busy with preparing the exams. I hope i can have some time to  take some nice trips after my exams and i even made some plans. Great, isn't it?

I come from east china, a province near Shanghai. I used to live in a small town, with a lot of moutains and rivers. I hope this summer i can have time to visit my parents. Looking forward to seeing them.

Nice to meet you all.

I am majore in Virual Assembly ,and helped developing a Virtual Assembly Design Environment system.

The Virtual Assembly Design Environment (VADE) is a Virtual Reality (VR) based engineering applicationwhich allows engineers to evaluate, analyze, and plan the assembly of mechanical systems. The system focuses on utilizing an immersive virtual environment tightly coupled with commercial Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. Salient features of the VADE should include: 1) data integration(two-way) with a parametric CAD system, 2) realistic interaction of user with parts in the virtual environment,3) creation of valued design information in the virtualenvironment, 4) reverse data transfer of design information back to the CAD system, 5)interactivity in the virtual environment, 6) collision detection, and 7) physically-based modeling.

My task is to find some arithmetics to detect the collision between two parts during assembly., and I think I did a good job.

I major in the Civil Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology. This major can be further divided into some subsections: the study of the steel-structure, engineering mechanics and the study of the concrete. Now I am PHD, studying for the doctor's degree. Recently I have been busy researching the properties of the FRP rebar; I hope the results will be as good as I imagine, that is, comparable with the steel.
FRP rebar has some merits and demerits. Its main demerit is that it can be easily snipped, which prevents its wide application in many projects, including to the bridges. If the experiment results are good enough, they will prove to us that FRP rebar can be applied to bridges to replace the steel. The steel is much more expensive and heavier than FRP rebar, which attracts our attention to the latter.
For a long time, people have focused their emphasis on the steel and concrete. Although there is already much abroad literature on the FRP rebar, few domestic researchers study it. I want to fill the blank and help people realize the function and role of the FRP rebar in our real life in order to make it be widely used, especially in bridges. Just because of its demerit I mentioned above, I need to study how to improve it, this is my recent focus. After we get rid of its demerit, its future will be pretty promising.
This is some of the information about my major, the application field of the FRP rebar, its development tendency and advanced technology.

Is the professional jurists.Frankly, the level of China's law is still immature. The early days after liberation, our comprehensive law to follow the Soviet Union, the command, the detention of a great law. After reform and opening up, gradually restore law stood in 1992.Law acknowledged the civilized things in the world.China began to use the outstanding jurists civilization. And gradually restored to the main law of the land, to study the situation."Ruling the country by law and building a socialist country ruled by law" has been written into the constitution.China's legislature, has been careful not follow the principle of crude. This has not led to a high level, even though the number has increased considerably, but laws and regulations of operation is not strong. With this substantial increase in the number of China's era of judicial legislation, the level of legal age.People pay more attention to the practice of law in the operation of state, but also pay attention to the actual effects of the law, fairness and efficiency.justice is always objective.Legal maturity -- a symbol indicates that the formulation of the Civil Code still being carried out.I believe the future of our law even better, more mature.

My major:   radiology.
Research content:   magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)
Application domain:   studies of psychiatric disorders
Trend of development:    Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS)
advanced technology:   MRS apply in 3.0 Tesla Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner

I work in a hospital in Guangdong province after I graduated a medical college in local city. Now I study in MR department. We can’t direct access to study the brains of living human subjects for many years because of lack of satisfactory animal models for psychiatric conditions. and Peripheral blood cell and platelet models, CSF studies, post-mortem samples is very considerable limit. The Philips Achieva 3.0T (Tesla is the measure of magnetic field strength, which influences resolution and image quality) is capable of producing an excellent level of imaging detail allowing clinical researchers to improve their understanding of physiology and cognitive processes of the brain and of neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy and Multiple Sclerosis, with excellent accuracy. The advanced capability of the Philips Achieva 3.0Tesla MR research system will enable us to increase our knowledge and understanding of some of medicine’s most challenging areas. Although ultra high-field MR research is still in its early stages, it is already clear that it could help provide significant insights into the diagnosis, intervention and treatment of degenerative neurological diseases. And ultimately many new applications outside the brain will become possible by means of this new technology platform as well. Currently I study in brain imaging investigations in mood disorders - focus on bipolar disorder.

The Presentation of My Major—Material Physics and Chemistry
My major, material physics and chemistry, is a major of Engineering Science. It is a Second-class Subjects belonging to the First-class Subjects Material Science and Engineering.
The material physics and chemistry studies the rules of the physical and chemical behaviors in arrange of atoms, molecules and electrons. It’s researching objects consist of metal materials, inorganic nonmetal materials, and polymer materials. The goal of this major is to understand the relationship among the preparation methods, the structure, the property and the application of the materials. There are many preparation methods to fabricate the materials, some of these are physical methods, such as PVD(Physical vapor deposit), HEM(high-energy milling), the others are chemical methods, such as CVD(chemical vapor deposit), Sol-Gel, hydrothermo method, micro-emulsion. Different structure can be prepared by different preparation method, and in different conditions by same preparation method. The products with different structure have different properties. In order to characterize the property of the product, many instruments would be used. The different properties determine the material’s application. So if the relationship among the preparation, structure, property and application is understood clearly, It is possible to prepare more useful materials for our life and construction through the design of the material’s structure and function.

Hello, I am a doctor, Rehabilitation Doctor, for which the abbreviation is RD. That is a relative new branch in the field of medicine. So many people don’t know the exact meaning of rehabilitation.
The rehabilitation medicine, first developed by an America doctor, Howard A. Rusk, has a history about only 50 years. The aim of rehabilitation medicine is to maximize the potential to restore a person who has an impairment, or an incapacity for service or work, as a result of a service injury or disease to at least the same physical and psychological state, and at least the same social, vocational and educational status, as he or she had before the injury or disease.
As many other branches of medicine, there are various sub-branches in rehabilitation medicine, such as neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, and so on. An important point with which rehabilitation medicine is quite different from other medical specialties, is the team approach. Doctors, nurses, therapists, psychologist, social workers, even relatives of the patient should work together to solve various kinds of problems for the best recovery for patients.
The levels of rehabilitation medicine are quite dissimilar across countries. In developed nations such as USA, there will be new techniques and ideas almost every day. For example, spasticity, a problem interfering the motor ability of patients, can be treated now with Botox, a drug blocking neuromuscular transmission through a three-step process. Further, recently, people found that this drug could also relieve pain for some patients. Three-dimensional analysis combined with EMG investigation is another example, which can make us perform an in-depth research in terms of human motion.  Actually, it is impossible to introduce the progress thoroughly with several sentences.
