Based on the pressure–state-response framework model, 38 indicators are abstracted in order to evaluate the environment conditions in China from 1990s. Then evaluation is carried out with the method of analytic hierarchy process and factor analysis.
Based on the pressure–state-response framework model, hierarchy process and factors analysis methods are adopted in order to synthetically evaluate the environment conditions in China since 1990s, which base on the 38 indicators.
The result shows that the environment conditions are improving during the period on the whole although several undulations happened. It can be divided into three intervals: small undulation in lower level during 1990-1997, improving evidently during 1997-2003 and rebounding during 2003-2005.
The result shows that the environment conditions are improving on the whole, though there are 3 fluctuations, which can be divided into three stage: low level during 1990-1997, evidently improving during 1997-2003, and rebounding during 2003-2005.
But the index of environment quality shows that the environment quality is deteriorating. At the same time, the index of environment construct, environment management and pollution control are improving. And the improving is much more efficient than the deteriorating, so the whole index is improving during the most time.
However the pure index of environment quality shows that the environment quality is deteriorating, and the over all environment are improved base on the environment construction, environment management and pollution control.
In the future, with the high economic growth rate, the environment quality will be still deteriorating and environment conditions will also be rebounding if efficient actions are not carried out.
In the future, with the high rate of economic growth, the environment quality and
integrate Environment will be keep on deteriorating rebounding after 2003, if lack of effective actions.
